Dr. Aujla graduated from Government Medical College & Hospital Patiala, India in 1979 and did additional training in general medicine, surgery and ophthalmology. He worked as General Physician for 8 years in rural and urban hospitals in India, including 3 years work as Emergency Room Physician. He went on to complete his postgraduate degree in 1989 with a speciality in ENT (ear, nose & throat) & Head and Neck surgery. He also worked as a teacher and consultant in a reputed medical college. He is a published author and guest speaker in many medical conferences.
Dr. Aujla moved to Canada in 2003 and acquired additional family medicine training and achieved fellowship in family medicine. He has been practicing family medicine for more than 35 years. He moved to Calgary in 2005. He is passionate about mentoring new physicians and is currently an examiner for the Medical Council of Canada and for The College of Family Physicians of Canada for fellowship exams. He is also an assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta to evaluate International Medical Graduates who are hoping to attain Alberta licensure. He is also appointed as lecturer at the University of Calgary, Family Medicine Department and involved with teaching the Family Medicine students. He is a Family Medicine Specialist with a special interest in Ear, Nose & Throat issues, allergies and minor surgical procedures.
